Review of No Reservations (2007) by Scott T — 20 Sep 2009
Wasn't sure about watching this but within 10 mins or so I got into it. Pretty predictable but very likeable movie. Catherine Zeta Jones is great as the unsure godparent, there is no sass or confidence to her character at all (when dealing with her real life outside of the kitchen) which I really liked because it was different.
Aaron Eckhart is charming and likeable as the inevitable love interest and Zeta Jones and him have genuine chemistry I think. The movie is stolen by the magnetic realistic acting of Abigail Breslin though.
She is brilliant in this movie. Going from tragedy, to realisation that her life has changed and then finding out life has its ups and downs was great to see her character go through. I think she is great and this is the best I've seen her since the brilliant Little Miss Sunshine.
She is definitely a big star of the future in my book. Great heart warming movie. Enjoy.
