Review of No Reservations (2007) by Jon Paul A — 05 Nov 2009
This is not a romantic comedy; this is more like a family drama. No Reservations is about a successful, uptight New York chef named Kate (Catherine Zeta -Jones ) with a love for food but she intimidates everyone around her, so her boss sends her to therapy. Her world is further turned upside down when her sister unexpectedly dies and she has to take care of her grieving niece, Abigail Breslin in her "grab the heart" role.
Her boss also hires a new chef to join the staff while Kate tries to pull her life back together. Nick played by Aaron Eckhart; now there's a cutie to the fullest. He was just incredible and so gorgeous. Kate begins to feel threatened by Nick, because he has a different style of running the kitchen.
It's nice to see a film with vibrant colors and clarity even with the setting being NYC where the sun isn't always shining.
