Review of No One Knows About Persian Cats (2009) by Billie W — 03 Aug 2011
It's a place where musicians are routinely arrested for even the most banal indie rock. Music is literally underground in soundproofed basements or way out in the country in fields or cowsheds. The movie is basically a string of Iranian music videos tied together with a thin plot and weak characters.
But the strangeness of the setting and the better music (the protaganists' music was maybe my least fav) makes it worthwhile.
