Review of No Man's Land: The Rise of Reeker (2008) by Maciej W — 24 Aug 2009
If you have seen the prequel to this movie - "Reeker", then you will find this part to have no surprises in store.
After a short introduction to the origin of the Reeker, the plot once again takes us to some diner/gas station in the middle of the desert where a group of casino robbers pull in. A shooting occurs and there's a big explosion... After that the survivors find themselves trapped and soon enough will have to fight for their lives against the Death's servant.
In comparison to the prequel, "Rise of the Reeker" appears even weaker. The plot once again is based on an ending twist but this time you are expecting it and it's just not enough to save the movie. There are too many flaws... The silly characters and unconvincing acting, lame gore scenes, completely no scares...
Two words: skip it. Unless you absolutely loved the prequel and wanna know a bit about the Reeker otherwise I can't imagine someone could tolerate this amount of stupidity and cheesiness in a horror movie and still find it entertaining.
