Review of No Escape (2015) by Kyle C — 25 Jun 2016
Intense, and Brutal. Those words describe this movie perfectly. Owen Wilson is surprisingly strong in this, he carries most of it, he's in about 95% of it, next to the opening scene and 1 scene about 30 minutes in.
He and Lake Bell play a couple under siege by rebels out to kill foreigners and they have to do whatever they can to protect their kids. They are literally running for their lives through most of this just trying to find a way out of the country but there is, as the title suggests, No Escape.
Pierce Brosnon shows up to help fight off the rebels but even he doesn't seem like enough to get them to safety. There are some brutal killings here and some parts may be tough to watch but this is a very entertaining thriller and it's not overly long and dragged out like some movies like this are so I give it props for that, it gets to the point quickly.
RECOMMENDED for the strong performance from Owen Wilson, and pretty much the whole atmosphere.
