Review of No End in Sight (2007) by Darian A — 06 Feb 2008

There is a certain sense of passionate anger brewing underneath "No End in Sight", which is actually more anti-war than anti-Bush or anti-Repulican, in general. The most important conclusions that need to be drawn from this film are that the majority of the decisions made post-9/11 were never fully considered or understood, while being made by an administration that did not, and to this day does not, understand its enemy.

The immense lack of military experience was the main reason for the failures at the beginning of the Iraq invasion, a fact which I had not ever considered before. This is a revelatory film that truly brought to light certain aspects of the War on Terror I never thought to consider.

However, my main question about this film is: What now? - Besides the detailed facts given to further confirm in our minds that the Bush administration failed tremendously at its objectives, what else is proposed?.

.. Not a lot is the answer. Also, with a new leader and, it is assumed, a new party taking office in less than a year, most Americans are assured that there will be a swift end to this war regardless of present condition.

Personal political ideology is not necessarily relevant to watch this movie, if people are willing to objectively view the factual information given. It seems like a tremendously one-sided documentary, almost in the vain of Michael Moore, but all of the defensive argumentors declined to be interviewed.

Perhaps, then, it is a good thing they were not interviewed... perhaps that allows us to draw our own conclusions. - Granted, my conclusions were not shockingly new, but they were cemented anyway...
