Review of No End in Sight (2007) by Vance G — 10 Feb 2008
Talking heads documentaries are fucking boring. Only the really good ones hold my attention, and I really enjoyed No End In Sight. Unlike most Iraq docs that try to teach us all why the Iraq war is wrong, No End In Sight simply examines why the war has been a failure.
Whether the war was just or not, it was botched right from the beginning, and there a lot of pissed off goverment employees who are willing to talk about it. There is some strange cover-up shit going on here and for once George Bush isn't even involved.
Although his face has been all over this war, this doc points out how the war was actually implemented and run by the people beneath him, people who fucked up and then acted as though nothing was wrong.
Very to-the-point and interesting stuff.
