Review of No End in Sight (2007) by Colleen C — 26 Jun 2009
Roger Ebert's little fantasy after watching this film was that the architects of the war in Iraq would be forced to sit and watch this film, Clockwork Orange style. I have to say that there were moments in this documentary that I wanted to look away because looking and knowing is just too painful.
This film is so well put together. They chose such a wide variety of people to interview, and everyone was able to bring something different to the table. The archive footage is excellent. The subject matter is fairly upsetting.
I admit that I cried or wanted to cry several times throughout. The number of blunders and mistakes that the United States made throughout are eye opening. Toward the end, they show a clip in which George Bush is explaining that the U.
S. will bring Iraqis supplies and medical aid and freedom. After an hour and forty minutes of footage and interviews, it couldn't be more apparent that this is blatantly untrue. All anyone has to show for the Iraq War is $1.
8 trillion dollars of debt.
