Review of No Country for Old Men (2007) by Wilman A — 24 Nov 2013

Oscars at the 2007 Academy Awards were awards for Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Adapted Screenplay, indeed with all the records this is one of quality movie. this movie served us everything non usual which always appear in another movie.

rather than focus in plot the director seems more focus on meaning and morality. a lot of character show different living,vision and objective. Big kudos for director because every cast can show all out performances in this movie.

I must write about the ending to give you all the expanation of the ending and prevent you dissapointed with the ending which take big time for me to visited several famous critics site. everything I write below, contained spoiler or something like that but if you read my review first, I assure it can be better if you understand the meaning before you watch it.

first of all this movie has a deep meaning and focus on that meaning rather than give us a lot action scene or cat and mouse game. the meaning has expained in the ending through dreams which Sheriff Ed tell.

there is two dreams which Sheriff Ed tell his wife. the meaning of first dream is the value which all people have forgotten in live. the value which we get since we born and we get from family or everbody around us but we failed keep that.

the second is the right way how people should live in this world. This is the hope that the country - that country and every country - could eventually find out the right way to a place with a warm fire and much more light.

but the question is why Sheriff Ed still alive? because if he choose justice he will be death and finally he choose not to choose it. that`s the prove final justice is not a part of this world. this movie prefer give us the reality than another movie which always give us the happy ending and show true justice must be the winner.

and the meaning of "No country of Old men" is back on story who the man died in 1909 because his heroic action but this man nephew (Sheriff Ed) choose not to seeking that justice because he know for now on, that`s no country for old men again.

the world has been lost its value and justice can`t guarantee everybody life again.
