Review of No Country for Old Men (2007) by Rob D — 16 Sep 2017
Dirty, thouth-provoking, ambicious, committed, sarcastic and horrifically tense, "No Country for Old Men" is The Coen Brothers at the top of their game. Not only it is the best movie of their entire carrer, but also one of the best movies ever made, a hell of a masterpiece.
It has on Javier Bardem perfromance one of his best filmmaking "weapons", a brutal and scary portrayal of a very strange man, who is constantly unadaptable in the environment in which he is.
Because of the themes this movie approaches, it deserves to be placed on the Top of the Coen Brothers filmography. "No Country for Old Men" is visually beautiful and striking, masterfully acted and sure an instant classic, if it is not one already.
