Review of No Country for Old Men (2007) by Mark D — 20 Mar 2013
I think the critics have gone OTT with this one - the most honest review of it that I read was in the Daily Mail on Friday 18th that pretty much summed up what I thought about it (James King's review is worth listening to also, as he argues that the only reason why critics are raving about it is due to the fact that they relate to Tommy Lee Jones as the moaning old sheriff).
..so I didnt think it was quite as good as its been made out to be and it goes on a bit too long, as once Josh Brolin is out of the picture I lost interest! still when Brolin is being chased down by Bardem these scenes are some of the most tense i've experienced in a looooooong time! ultimately i've seen worse, but i've also seen a lot better.
