Review of No Country for Old Men (2007) by Ollie B — 21 Mar 2013
A stunning film with breath-taking visuals, and brilliant performances from all actors involved. The chilling story of a lone assassin is gripping, and is helped by a masterfully-written screenplay by the Coen brothers, who seem to have a touch of gold when it comes to writing dramas.
Special mention must go to Javier Bardem whose performance, well-deserving of his Oscar, keeps your eyes glued to every scene he appears in. His coin toss scene is the best of them all, as he shows his craziness but also a slice of humility as he is willing to let the gas station owner go should he call right, which he does.
Tommy Lee-Jones and Josh Brolin should also be praised for their performances which makes you continually curious about what's coming. A real masterpiece by the Coen Brothers, and by far the best film of 2007.
