Review of No Country for Old Men (2007) by Jonathan B — 19 Nov 2013
A beautifully majestic, yet captivating tragedy of a world that envisions its denivens strewn amongst the world like broken blades of grass. All those involved give harrowing performances that rank easily as the best for both Josh Brolin and Javier Bardem, who plays a psychopathic killer that could rival Hannival Lecter, save for his charm, and replaced with a witful, though schizophrenic humor.
The Coen brothers come into their own as film-makers, and in the process portray a jaded world ripe for change, as the past and the future collide in an unforgettable climax that will leave you stranded.
