Review of No Country for Old Men (2007) by Aaron J — 25 May 2013
Before I start this review I just want to say that I really do like this movie. I have to say that this film really didn't deserve Best Picture, I think that THERE WILL BE BLOOD deserved Best Picture.
This film is full of such sweeping cinematography and a great cast, but its really a dark film that doesn't make you want to cheer at the end. I don't think that Javier Bardem deserved Best Supporting Actor because that part wouldn't have been that hard to play, to me a character really has to have depth so I think that Casey Affleck sould have won for The Assassination of Jesse James By the Coward Robert Ford.
No Country for Old Men is full of such detailed drama, that in the end it really doesn't pay off, the film really is a 3 1/2 star film, because it is such an unlikely film for the Coen Brothers to take on.
I really have to say good job to the Coens.
