Review of No Country for Old Men (2007) by Tubby T — 28 Nov 2013
Well I heard all the hype ... blah blah best picture ... blah blah 4 Oscars and several other nominations ... but I really dont understand why?? I guess I am just in the minority on this waste of time.
To start ... This movie had a very weak plot ... Some dude that was at the wrong place, at the wrong time ... and was now a marked man. What I found really odd is why Brolin's character decided to return hours later with water for the dying drug dealer after he found a satchel full of money?? UMMM for 1 ... the dude was prolly dead already and 2 ... why the hell would u return after u stumbled on a drug deal gone bad, and he at this time had no idea that this money was being tracked?? That's just plain dumb.
Enter the main antagonist of this pretty boring flick ... he was kinda cool, and I like his methodical way of making the victims choose their own fate, but seriously there was no back story on this "HITMAN" ... y was he going thru all this trouble ... he certainly wasnt in it for the money. I get that he is pretty much nuts, but most times there has to be some point to wanton violence. Guess there just wasnt one.
And let me see ... Woody Harelson's and TL Jones role was kinda pointless and really had nothing to do with this lame story. Oh ya ... Woody was yet another HITMAN that lasted oh what 20 mins and gets blown away and let me see ... Jones was a sherriff that basically didnt nothing this entire movie. Isnt he supposed to "catch the bad guy" or at least try?? He basically told old man stories the entire flick, and even with that he made no sense!
I get that this movie is about moral choices ... and I believe that unless u make a poor decision ... do not waste 2 hours on this snoozefest ... or u HAVE chosen unwisely!
I got it!! Just flip a coin, and chose ur fate!! haha.
