Review of No Country for Old Men (2007) by Catriona A — 10 May 2013
It is safe to say that this film is gut wrenching and raw. There isn't much talking, there isn't much pizazz. What this movie has, is a strong acting triangle. Javier Bardem plays the role of his life, with Anton Chigurh, a man chasing down Llewelyn Moss (Josh Brolin).
Although the bone chilling Bardem will kill anyone standing in his way, he is after the treasure in which Brolin has stumbled upon after what seems to have been a Mexican standoff. Sherriff Ed Tom Bell (Tommy Lee Jones) is a very peaceful, yet protective man.
He won't stop until he finds Bardem and stops him in his plan to hunt down Brolin. He is kind but realizes his time may be up for he is an old timer. A short appearance from Woody Harrelson is always pleasant and he shows that again in this film.
The nitty gritty, the chase, the drama, the anxiety, is lurking through every corner of this movie. Get on the edge of your seat and buckle up, because this is an exciting ride that will end in a twisting, hurtful way.
