Review of No Country for Old Men (2007) by Sanchayan S — 25 Aug 2014
I realize I'm going against the grain here. Was this a technically well-done movie? Of course. How was the acting? Terrific. And yet...there is something despicable at work in this movie, an ugly evil that cannot be put to rest.
No redemption, only running from it. Civilians being shot down left and right. I'm judging this movie on my own standards, and I believe certain things are important to have in a movie, hope being one of them (however small that hope might be).
This movie is dreary, with no antidote. I still can't quite put my finger on it, but something about this movie really bothered me.
