Review of No Country for Old Men (2007) by Mike B — 09 Dec 2015
Simply genius. This film, the remake of True Grit, and Unforgiven are modern masterpieces and my favorite westerns. OK--Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid with Redford and Neuman is pretty darned good too.
Brolin, Jones, and Bardem are terrific. Kelly Macdonald, a Scot, pulls a terrific turn with a great accent. Watch it several times for the nuanced performances and the super-creepiness of Bardem. I've probably watched this 25 times.
Still thoroughly enjoy it every time. A CLASSIC.
