Review of No Clue (2014) by Paul D — 13 Jul 2014
NO CLUE review by FAT Mike.
In a case of mistaken identity, a salesman is hired as a private detective by a woman to find her missing brother.
I like Brent Butt, he is a talented funny comedian but in this movie he falls flat. There are some chuckles but no hard laughs. And I didn't feel any connection to any of the characters.
Even though this movie was a letdown, the cast is made up of some talented stars like Corner Gas' Brent Butt, Anchorman's David Koechner and Cranks own Amy Smart. Even though the cast is good they don't make this movie good.
The things I did enjoy is some of the dry humor and the chemistry between Brent Butt and David Koechner. I enjoyed the conclusion at the end of the movie, was fun. All together, after the first 25 minutes I was board and waiting for the movie to pick up but it doesn't till the last screen and even then I just wanted to end. I hope this movie will grow on me in time.
I was let down by No Clue, but hopefully Brent Butt's next film will be much better. You learn from your mistakes, right? Cheers and remember life won't suck as long as there is a good movie to watch.
2 out of 10.
