Review of No (2012) by Chiara C — 23 Feb 2013
About the selling of hope, Pablo Larrain's reflection on the unlikely 1988 downfall of Augusto Pinochet in Chile is super gratifying. This is especially true for those of us who remember the assassination of President Salvador Allende in 1973 and the torture and massacre of many of his followers.
Gael Garcia Bernal is completely believable as the young advertising exec who sells hope and happiness in order to accomplish the nearly impossible. Both Obama campaigns leap to mind.
