Review of No (2012) by Jordan B — 21 Mar 2013
Very good film. It stays very much on the topic of what happened in those days and in that regime. I especially admired how the vintage propaganda was displayed throughout the film. Showing how not only in this government, but in many other governments the media exploits certain things to the people and doesn't let the actual truth come forth. Also the film had a great team of actors and cinematography, it really expresses the power of the people and revolution. How it takes commitment from citizens in the opposition to unite, and fight for what's right. Triumph comes after the people have won like in many other revolutionary movements. Being a foreign film with Gael Garcia Bernal and being a film nominated for awards was the reason for me going to watch this, but it is a powerful film with many aspects of modern life and government.
Go see it.
