Review of No (2012) by Tim S — 30 Jun 2013
This movie is wonderfully done, and I love the director's decision to film it in full-frame and with low quality film... it really does of a great job of tricking you into thinking that you are watching a documentary.
It tells a wonderful underdog story and builds tension without gimmicks. My issue with this movie is the message, which glorifies the use of advertising marketing techniques in political campaigns. Though it clearly works, and continues to work, I'm not sure that we should be celebrating the shameless manipulation of the masses, even if it's for a good cause.
