Review of Nixon (1995) by Keith C — 26 Jun 2007
Can you imagine what this man would have been had he ever been loved? Because he had greatness in his grasp. But he had the defects of his qualities.
When they look at you, they see what they want to be. When they look at me, they see what they are.
You're too modest, Mr. Nixon. You're as evil as I am. We are the new emperors. We're both from poor families. But others pay to feed the hunger in us. In my case, millions of reactionaries. In your case, millions of Vietnamese.
Is peace all you are interested in? The real war is in us. History is a symptom of our disease.
