Review of Nixon (1995) by Al S — 28 Jan 2008
After giving us his view on the Kennedy Assasination,Oliver Stone deals with the most contreversial president in American History Richard M Nixon.
Afigure who divides opinion to this day.
Stone covers Nixon's political career from his wilderness years to his final downfall over Watergate.
Its a lot of ground but Stone has a Top Notch cast to give the story real punch.
Hopkins may not be Nixon but he gives a wonderful performance capturing every flaw the man had.
He is given able support by Joan Allen as Pat Nixon,James Woods as HR Haldman,JT Walsh as John Erlichman, and ED Harris as Howard Hunt.
In fact all the cast is excellent and special mention to Robert Richadrson for his excellent camera work.
A long film yes and like the Man Flawed but still a brillant film none the less.
