An incredible Shakespearean tale. Nixon becomes a surprisingly good example of the tragic hero. Greatness was in his reach, but he was destroyed by his own flaws.
Anthony Hopkins wisely avoids capturing the Nixon tics and instead captures his soul. Joan Allen is the perfect foil as his wife. And great supporting performances by Woods and Sorvino.
