Review of Nixon (1995) by Sid B — 02 Jan 2012
I'm not an expert on American history nor the people who played a part in it, but Oliver Stone supplies us with an interesting look into Richard Nixon's role.
Anthony Hopkins does a great job portraying the haunted human being behind the flawed President. Stone handles the material as if it were a Shakespearean tragedy, this concept is reinforced by John Williams' grand music. As far as biopics go this is a fine work; critical but at the same time empathetic.
