Stone's visual style is always overly ambitious and often looks cheap -- but it's not a complete deal-breaker, as the movie is compelling enough to sit through, yes, even though it's 3.5 hours long and even though it's riddled with obvious inaccuracies.
I was surprised that Hopkins fit the role so well.
