What an amazing movie, and what made it so much more wonderful is that I was introduced President Nixon about 4 years before this film was released. This is another Olive Stone type deal where he has something political say and is going to say it loud. With Nixon, he pretty much stuck to the facts (which only make things that much more dramatic), but he did something I NEVER thought him capable of doing... portraying Nixon as a real human being, not some vulgar-tongued, ironfisted bully who, because of his person demons, could control the world. Albeit there are a few hypotheticals and conspiracy theories in the film, but it's nowhere near as bad as Stone's JFK.

I know Anthony Hopkins won an Academy Award for portraying Hannibal Lector, but if he were to ever receive an Academy Award, it should have been for his portrayal of Richard M. Nixon. I mean Hopkins had Nixon down cold... everything from his cussing to his facial tics.

This is one of my favorite political based dramas, and I'm possitively sure it's not for most (especially at 3 hours long), but for those of you interested in the life of Tricky Dick Nixon, give the movie a chance... it's almost as good as reading all those books about him... not quite, but still pretty accurate.
