Cheap and naïve sci-fi setting with shallow spiritual undertones and cod philosophy. The idea of a virus giving consciousness to a character in a video-game is complete nonsense and destroys suspension of disbelief, along with the rest of the cyberbabble.
And, with the moustache, the Italian guy looks conveniently similar to the main character of another game... oh... 'Nirvana' is actually 'Mario Bros!' How embarrassing!
