Review of Ninotchka (1939) by Aditya M — 09 Dec 2011
The script sparks and crackles with early indications of the brilliance of Billy Wilder. The film's best moments come by way of it's sly digs at Communism. However, the 180-degree transformation of Greta Garbo's character seems highly far-fetched, and since this is what the story centers on, the second half of the film appears a little contrived.
Still worth a watch for the great dialog and charming performances.
