Review of Ninja Scroll (1993) by Sofia L — 28 May 2008
In the world of anime, something original only comes along about once every 500 years. Ninja Scroll is one of these rare exceptions. Set in a very real time period and starring a real ronin of Japanese history, it combines with grotesquely supernatural elements to create a world of brutality, deception, sacrifice, and intrigue.
Jubei is perhaps the perfect hero - the lone samurai wandering without a master.
