Review of Ninja III: The Domination (1984) by Allan C — 18 Dec 2016
From the director of "Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo" comes this 1980s Canon films classic about an aerobics instructor possessed by the spirit of an evil ninja who uses her to seek his revenge upon those who killed him.
Lucinda Dickey plays the aerobics instructor, which is kind of fun since she was one of the most charming elements of the Breakin' films and having only ever appeared in six films. However, although the ninja fight scenes and goofy supernatural scenes (including floating swords and demonic arcade games) are fun, the film is pretty bad.
Low points include a sex scene involving V8 Juice and and a ninja taking about a hundred bullets without any bullet holes. But then again, Shô Kosugi in an eyepatch is pretty cool. In someways is kind of a goofball synthesis of 1980s B-picture sub-genreas; ninjas, dance/aerobics, demonic possession, etc.
Overall, it's mixed bag, but pretty fun if you're a fan of 80s style ninja movies.
