Review of Ninja Assassin (2009) by Ryan F — 08 May 2011
This movie is a lot of pointless, bloody, nasty, aimless, fun. I liked it.
Ninja Assassin is constant fun. When there aren't amazing fight scenes going on, there's laughable acting. The drama can be absolutely hilarious. I didn't care about any of the characters in the slightest, and the script is terrible.
The cool part of the movie, for me, was the fight scenes between the Ninja's and the Commandos. They were shot very well. The duels were great, the brawls were great, everything involving fighting was great. I saw it in theatres, and I'm probably gonna rent it again on DVD, just for the hell of it.
A warning, this movie is VERY bloody at times. If you don't like blood, don't see this movie. I'm not a huge fan of bloody violent movies, and I don't like torture films. I couldn't stand 300, and blood for the sake of blood is stupid.
This movie has AMAZING fight scenes, which are worth a rental alone. If you can't stand the bad acting, fast forward or do chapter select. The fight scenes are worth it.
