Anyone looking for a serious plot and solid acting is going to hate Ninja Assassin. I didn't hate it at all. In fact, I really liked it. However, anyone that says it's stupid isn't wrong. It's violent, over-the-top, and very stupid.
Not to mention the CGI is quite ugly. I still was consistently entertained throughout and never bored. The action was fantastic! This is one of those movies where it really depends on the kind of person you are and what mood you are in.
I'm not really a serious person so I enjoyed and accepted this movie for what it is. I really liked it because it is highly entertaining and fun to watch despite the basic plot and cheesy acting. If you're like me, you should to.
Though I can see why some people won't like it.
