Review of Nine Queens (2000) by Lestat D — 26 Jan 2007
Masterpiece. Plain and simple. Compeling story with clever twists that'll make you suspect from every character and make your jaw drop. Gastón Pauls is great as young & naive Juan, but the movie belongs to Ricardo Darín; proving himself once again as one of the finest actors in Latin America. If you're looking for a con movie as good as "The Sting" look no further, this is a worthy heir.
P.S. Don't even bother watching "Matchstick Men" or "Criminal" ("Nine Queens" remake).
