Review of Nine Months (1995) by Steve B — 18 Jun 2012
Floppy hair Hugh Grant stars as a young guy wanting to remain young and free with his lovely girl, that is until she tells him she's pregnant and poor 'Sam' comes unstuck trying to deal with it and watching the movie, not too well.
This movie has the ingredients for an emotional drama and story and does well throughout with some heartfelt and tearful scenes. Unfortunately the 'annoying couple', Robin Williams and the movie's comical, lighthearted slant keeps you from enjoying this movie seriously.
Hugh plays his usual, stereotypical, classic lover and guy with some amusing expressions and faces to be seen throughout. The movie brings a 'closeness' and 'family warmth' feel to it as with another Chris Columbus movie, 'Mrs.
Doubtfire' and is just a shame that in my opinion it's got mixed genres of comedy and a loving drama.
