Review of Nine Lives (2016) by C M — 18 Sep 2016
While watching this film I kept thinking "It's 90 minutes of cat videos!" You know, those crazy funny films people make of their cats doing silly things. It's a lot like that at times IMHO.
The story line is pretty trite with Spacey playing a rich but detached family man who encounters a mysterious pet shop when he goes to get a cat for his daughter. Magic happens and he finds himself as his daughter's cat.
Pretty formulaic. But it is laugh out loud funny at times as he adjusts to his new way of life and it does have a satisfying ending. Christopher Walken is suitably mysterious and the rest of the cast is pretty decent.
I did find it just a touch creepy that Spacey's character married Garner's character since they're like 15 years apart. I also thought his ex looked really young too... Anyway, a very funny comedy.
Recommended.
