Review of Nine (2009) by Alexander S — 20 Jul 2010
I held so much high hopes for this movie but it ultimately fell short of its goal.
Daniel Day Lewis will always drag the viewer in with his eccentricities but alot of the women failed to captivate. Marion Cotillard was very good as a wife who knows she is being cheated on. Judi Dench is always a good companion on screen but her musical set missed the mark. The rest brought a subtle grin but were eventually forgotten with the rest of the sub-plots.
The story jumped from place to place and person to person but it really never captivated the true essence of Lewis' portrayal of Guido Contini.
