Review of Nina Forever (2016) by Simon D — 20 Apr 2016
'Nina Forever' indeed.
Talk about our loved ones never leaving us alone.
Everyone loses someone they care deeply about one way or another so when we decide it's time to move on we think it's that easy.
There's always that concern of replacing whom was once our significant other and having others get on board with the idea.
In the case of Holly and Rob they face the most sickly, bloody love triangle with Rob's deceased girlfriend constantly showing up whenever they try to make love.
This is a very gory tale of newfound romance/forbidden romance as Nina never seems to leave them alone and they have to try to put up with her.
If you thought 'Over Her Dead Body' was a poor attempt at making you laugh with a dead loved one repeatedly getting in the way of a new relationship then this movie is better at handling it.
It's more blood-filled though but way better-acted.
The ending is rather weak given what's been done up to a point and a real downer.
As a result though we all have to live with grief whether we want to or not.
