Review of Nil by Mouth (1997) by Lee R — 27 Dec 2007
Ray Winstone is a fantastic actor, which shows here, but for me Kathy Burke steals the show. It is incredible that this is Gary Oldman's first directorial role, I hope there's plenty more to come from him.
By the way, Kathy's Mum in this, Laila Morse (who most of us know as Big Mo from Eastenders) is actually Gary Oldman's older sister, and the acting talent seems to run in the family as she puts in a very capable performance.
This is unlike any other film I have seen in terms of realism. Buy it, download it, whatever, you must see this film.
