Review of Nil by Mouth (1997) by Andrew S — 27 Jun 2008
Ray Winstone and Kathy Burke really do make this film what it is, with non-glossed characters and a resigned tension between them. Creed-Miles' storyline seems to possess a bit too much screen time in relation to the rest of the plot.
However he does play a good part. I like the fact that this film contains very little music whatsoever, which makes it seem all the more real. Whose life has a customised soundtrack? This film is testament that Ray Winstone is one of the best actors these fair Isles have produced.
