Review of Nikita (1990) by Ben W — 12 May 2008
Besson has a unique way of making the hit man - or in this case hit woman - character an extraordinarily humane one. What this film does better than the Professional, however, is not concretely dictate our emotions towards Nikita, or Marie, or Josephine or whatever her name is.
A fascinatingly contradictory character from beginning to end that, like Marco, never truly lets us get as close as we'd wish.
