Review of Nikita (1990) by Rebecca B — 26 Dec 2009
Very good. I hadn't expected it to be as subtle as it turned out to be. I really liked that - it avoids the clichés of a hopeless case turning into the best assassin. Nikita was a hopeless drug addict, and then she was transformed into a government assassin - but just a regular one, still haunted by her past.
I also loved the character played by Jean Reno, even though he only appeared for the last quarter of the film.
