A haunting and unassailable masterwork. Flawless, it is one of Federico Fellini's very great achievements. Giulietta Masina gives one of cinematic history's finest performances. She exploits every emotional nuance of her character to its absolute endpoint and mines a level of humor and heartbreak that has rarely been equaled and far more rarely surpassed.
