Review of Nights of Cabiria (1957) by Nathan W — 03 Jul 2005
Fellini's wife Giulietta Masina is superb as a naïve prostitute who wanders the backstreets of Italy by night, dreaming of a more privileged life. One of Fellini's finest films, beautifully filmed and poignantly written; as she did in "La Strada," Masina is utterly charming, using more facial expressions and body language than a silent film star.
This is really brilliant stuff..
