Review of Nights of Cabiria (1957) by Austin S — 05 Aug 2007
"Nights of Cabiria" is a film about a prostitute in Rome who seeks love and escape from her line of work. Giulietta Masina, the wife of Federico Fellini, plays this role perfectly. Cabiria is full of life, yet she knows how to survive in the rough streets of Rome.
She has made her own way and has a home of her own. Although she works hard, she longs to be loved and get married. But her attempts to find happiness in love are futile. However, through all her hardships, she maintains a joyous spirit who loves living life.
