Review of Nights in Rodanthe (2008) by Paulette L — 27 Mar 2009
The book is such a beautiful Novel but if you are Nicholas Sparks fan you know that most of his Brilliant Romantic Novel has a rather sad ending.
This movie in my opinion did justice to the book.
The cinematography especially along the coastline is beautiful, the main setting is really charming, The actors are great. However don't expect this movie to be in the same league as "The Notebook"- In my opinion, that one is untouchable.
Nights in Rodanthe is a good movie, it will make you realize that to find love you have to let love find you by freeing yourself from the sad memories of the past- This will bring back old love story memories of love letters in the mail, A walk on the beach, beach front sunset and all that sweet memories but like what I said this is a Nicholas Sparks story- so have yourself a box of kleenex before you pop that DVD in the player.
Adaptations are always a hit and miss often times "A big fat miss". I think of bad adaptations to be like some sort of a means for screenwriters to sabotage a perfectly well written novel. Fortunately for Nights in Rodanthe the screenwriters seem to like it as well.
