Review of Nights in Rodanthe (2008) by Pantelis B — 23 Apr 2009
I kind of don't know why this film recieved such bad reviews. I can see what they're talking about to an extant. The moods of the characters change so quickly you wonder if you accidentily fast-forwarded a few chapters on the DVD.
But then again, it is about a 90 minute movie, so maybe if it were 120 it may have been more convincing in that way. Despite some of it's problems, I found this to be an excellent tear jerker based on yet another novel by the modern king of romance novels Nicholas Sparks.
I can't say I've seen very many movies that featured the two leading actors before, so I can't say if this was some of there best work or not. But they seemed to be the best in the movie.Sure the end result maybe sappy and depressing, but I found it to really work for me.
Despite the films criticism, it is still worth seeing especially if you are really into chick-flicks.
