Review of Nights in Rodanthe (2008) by Sheri M — 07 Jun 2009
I am not a Richard Gere fan; in fact if I see his movies, I usually wait till they are out on video. I am sorry I waited on this one...
The underlying theme is "It's never too late for a second chance".
There is of course the difficulty of Gere and Langâ??s characters failed marriages... but at one point in the movie Lang tells her daughter...
"I know you've only ever known your father and me and I love Jack because he's your father. But there is another kind of love. One that gives you the courage to be better than you are, not less than you are. One that makes you feel that anything is possible. I want you to know you can have that Amanda, I want you to hold out for it I want you to know you deserve it.â??
In the movie Gere and Langâ??s characters only know each other for 4 days but, they learn each other through months of letter writing.
Based on the novel by Nicholas Sparks, the author of the â??Notebookâ??. It is a story of knowing you found the right person, and how that love changes you.
