Desperately slight mid-lfe crisis romantic drama in which portentious weight is put in relatively small acts. Despite Gere and Lane both being convincing and watchable this is too po-faced, too lacking in dramatic tension, and just too TV movie to have anything like the kick the ending might deserve.
At best this is a diverting for your easy-to-please mum.
